Find the fuse-box access points and selected electrical circuits for the Volvo XC40. Use the interactive index and table below to identify the circuit, then compare it with the label fitted to your own vehicle.
Covered version. XC40 model year 2024: selected engine-compartment circuits from the cited conventional XC40 handbook. Not the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric allocation. Engine, transmission, market and optional equipment change the full table; variant-dependent transmission entries are excluded.
Fuse box access
The selected positions are in the engine-compartment fuse box. Follow the linked handbook to release the cover and identify the numbered position. Other boxes have independent numbering. Do not disturb battery connections or high-current protection to reach a fuse.
Interactive circuit index
Hover, focus or tap a button to highlight its description. These buttons are a circuit index, not a drawing of the physical fuse positions. Only the circuits listed below are covered.

Selected fuse assignments
Optional circuits apply only when the equipment is fitted. Match both the rating and physical type. Entries marked “workshop replacement” require workshop service according to Volvo.

What to check first
Front 12 V socket: 2 (15 A); cargo socket: 4 (15 A); rear USB ports: 1 (5 A). Horn: 29 (20 A). Wipers: 31 (30 A, MCase+), requiring workshop replacement. Heated-windscreen circuits also require workshop replacement.
Replacing a fuse safely
Park the car, switch off the ignition and electrical consumers, and follow the matching handbook. Remove only an identified, accessible fuse. Fit the same physical type and specified current rating. Never bridge a fuse or increase its rating. If it fails again, stop and diagnose the underlying fault.
Frequently asked questions
Does this fit every model year?
No. Check the generation, handbook edition, steering position, engine and equipment. A familiar model name or an identical fuse number is not enough to confirm a match.
Where are the relays and omitted circuits?
Use the vehicle-specific workshop wiring information for relay positions, main protection and circuits omitted from this selection. An empty fuse position is not a confirmed accessory feed. Safety-system and high-voltage work requires the correct professional procedure.
